The brand specializes specifically in keto supplements. They pride themselves on the simplicity of their ingredients.
One of their claims to fame is being one of the first companies to deliver electrolyte supplements to the market that don’t break your fast during intermittent fasting. Adapted Nutrition was one of the first brands to address the common issue in the keto community known as the keto flu, which many people experience when first attempting the diet. The symptoms, which resemble the actual flu, are caused by the body adapting to a reduced intake of carbohydrates, a dilemma that Adapted Nutrition has largely been able to solve.
Adapted Nutrition’s best-selling keto product is “Keto K1000 Electrolyte Powder” and their best selling hydration product is “Hi-Lyte Concentrate”, which both have over 2,000 reviews available. Their worst-selling keto products are “Organic Cold Pressed Wheat Grass Powder” and “Keto IV Electrolyte Drops” which have no reviews available, and their worst-selling hydration product is “Hi-Trace”, which only has 2 reviews available. The brand’s products come in the form of capsules, powders, liquids, and concentrates.
Adapted Nutrition’s “Keto K1000 Electrolyte Powder” was featured on Men’s Journal’s list of “The 10 Best Keto Supplements to Kickstart Your Keto Diet”, USA Today’s list in 2020 of “The 10 Best Keto Supplements”, and Women’s Health’s August 2020 issue. Their “Hi Lyte Electrolyte Supplement for Rapid Hydration” was featured on POPSUGAR’s article in 2018, “Drinking Water Just Got More Fun - Here’s How”.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
Like many health-conscious supplement brands, Adapted Nutrition also has a blog on their company website with the purpose of informing consumers. The blog is organized well and visually interesting, with a healthy balance of words to visuals, a solid amount of categories (not too many to overwhelm readers), and attention-grabbing headlines for articles. Where Adapted Nutrition goes beyond their competitors though, is with their “Recipes” tab, where they share a number of delicious recipes to help people enjoy their Keto lifestyle.
Adapted Nutrition is committed to ensuring the safety and convenience of their customers. All products come with specific instructions on how to take them and how often they should. All products are also fully transparent with their list of ingredients, which are intentionally absent of artificial ingredients, added sugars, maltodextrin, fillers, soy, corn, or peanuts. The reputation of the brand is also strong, as their products have been featured in established publications like Men’s Journal, USA Today, Women’s Health, and POPSUGAR.
For individuals with dysautonomia, POTS, or EDS, Adapted Nutrition offers a subscription-based membership program called the “POTS Club” where customers can save up to 33%. You can only sign up for the program if you are diagnosed with those three conditions, so those customers specifically can receive an added level of attention and priority. Members of these communities may require daily salt and electrolyte supplementation, which Hi-Lyte capsules can help with.
The product pages on the company website are very easy to follow and direct. The pictures are sized perfectly, the product description is in-depth and covers most aspects of the product, a list of guarantees are listed, health and safety certifications are listed, brand placements in publications are listed, payment methods are listed, and reviews are found without having to click off of the page. The company website overall is also very clean.
Cons:
Though it is stated on the “Our Story” tab on the company website that the brand avoids problematic ingredients, not much is said about their process or details of where they source their ingredients from. What is the process of deciding what ingredients the company does use? Exactly what “natural sea minerals” does the company use? As a brand started in 2015, some consumers may feel uncomfortable buying from a fairly new company in this market. Easing their uncertainties is possible by providing as much information about the company as possible and being as transparent as possible.
The mission statement for Adapted Nutrition is strong. And the logical reasoning behind the mission is also. However, there is no emotional appeal and it is not very personable. Some health supplement websites have a “Meet the Team” tab or something similar to share photos of the workers at the company and a short bio for them. Including a feature like this adds to the level of trust that customers will give the brand. Not having a face behind the brand can sometimes lead to the perception that the company is a big, money-hungry corporation that doesn’t care about its customers. It would help if in the “Our Story” tab, there was more information about the founder, Jeremy Adam’s life, and his motivations behind creating the brand; besides wanting to provide the world with quality hydration products.
Looking at the Instagram and Twitter pages of the brand, the same issue of lacking personality is apparent. Most of the media is obviously professionally crafted and the stories are either informational graphics or promotional material. There are some posts of regular people using the product or simply being active, and the pages could use more of that.
The product line is focused and succinct. However, some consumers may crave more diversity of products and ingredients. As of now, Adapted Nutrition is targeting a very niche audience and it could help to expand their product line in the future.

All products are backed by science and are fine-tuned for months and sometimes years in the company? labs. The mission of the brand is to deliver quality ketone products to people all over the world.
Real Ketones, in addition to selling products, also is a leader in the ketone supplementation industry in conducting research studies and clinical trials. Rob Rogers and Gary Millet, the founders of the company, have made a myriad of scientific discoveries related to ketones, including the fact that the human body actually prefers ketones as its natural energy source; not glucose or sugar. The brand aims to eliminate the need for harmful energy sources like sugar and help popularize clean ketone supplementation.
Real Ketones has developed a reliable and seamless ketone supply chain to ensure a high standard of manufacturing practices and GRAS safety qualifications. They are partnered with Compound Solutions Inc. Together, they have worked to create GoBHB· a patented ketone body called beta-hydroxybutyrate. GoBHB·helps deliver a boost of energy and acts as a fuel source for the brain and body.
Products from Real Ketones have been featured on several notable publications and podcasts including The Joe Rogan Experience, Ketone Pioneers Reveal Their Secrets, The Future of Keto Supplements, Great Tasting Keto, Real Ketones in Simply Gluten Free Magazine, The Power of Ketone Performance, Benefits of the Ketogenic Diet, and Founders of Real Ketones Discuss the Many Benefits of Ketones.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
The Real Ketones website is extremely dense with information and practically everything you need to know about ketones and keto diets can be found in the site's "Learning Center" tab. On this tab, you can find FAQ?, the company? formula, clinical studies, keto recipes, a blog filled with news, guides, and other ketone-related content, and an introductory page for their app. It is very convenient to be able to find so much information in one, organized location.
The product line has great variety. The company offers virtually every form of edible ketone product including capsules, liquid hots, powder sticks, containers of powder, coffee creamers, snack bars, and chips. Giving consumers several options is ideal because different buyers may have different preferences on how they want to consume ketones. Real Ketones also offers a blending bottle to make creating keto drinks easier and test strips to check your ketone levels. Their products are divided by categories of weight loss, health & wellness, energy & performance, and snacks & nutrition.
Real Ketones is an innovator and a leader in the commercialization of ketones. Consumers can feel comfortable knowing that they are buying from a brand that has been in the industry since 2013. The founders are pretty transparent with their research and provide documents for their clinical studies on the company website. They even break down their research process, which is adjusted for placebo, double-blinded, and approved by the IRB for the purpose of avoiding the placebo effect and observer bias. These measures are considered the gold standard in many fields of research such as medicine and psychology. Most of the research on the "Clinical Studies" page refers to the company? research on the single ketone, D-BHB.
Through the Real Ketones app, people can track their weight, plan meals and activities, receive daily tips and guidance, and get 1-on-1 support from a live member of the brand's team. The app contains two free keto diet plans both for beginners and more advanced users. A free membership is granted with any purchase of Real Ketones products.
Cons:
Although the company website offers a lot of information on the ketone, D-BHB, there is not much research available that was conducted on any other topic. Users can find other information on the blog tab, but no other clinical studies. Several times on the site, it is mentioned that the brand has a meticulous research process and that they're made many discoveries that have contributed to the ketone supplementation community. However, only these two clinical studies are shared. And besides the discoveries that D-BHB aids with weight loss/BMI reduction and stress/anxiety, as well as the fact that the body prefers ketones as its energy source, no other discoveries are mentioned. Some consumers may be underwhelmed by the amount of research and discoveries listed on the website.
Though the company website is filled with great information, it could be displayed better. Visually, the colors and design of the site are just a bit lackluster. There is no real consistency with the colors and it sort of leaves the impression that all the content was just crammed in there. Some more distinguishing features in design from section to section could help with this issue. Some of the images look like they're low resolution also. There is also no search bar on the site.
Many of the photos on the product pages only show the product from the outside. When making a purchase, consumers essentially have no idea what is on the inside of the container they are buying. Having a photo or two of the actual product inside the packaging can help create trust with customers and increase the brand? level of transparency.
Since the keto market is still a growing industry, it might be helpful to mention counterarguments against the movement. The feeling a customer gets when a ton of listed benefits are thrown at them can be overwhelming and feel phony. It could be beneficial for the brand? relationships with its customer if any negative effects of ketone supplementation were mentioned, then debunked.

Bulletproof is best known for its energizing, keto-friendly coffee products. The brand promises to deliver one of the creamiest lattes you'll ever have· Grass-fed butter is also a good source of butyrate, vitamin A, beta-carotene, and the fatty acid CLA. Lastly, Bulletproof uses the key ingredient of Brain Octane C8 MCT oil in their coffee recipe, pure C8 derived from 100% coconut oil, triple distilled water, and purified with water, heat, and pressure. Does this process allow for the output of highly ketogenic C8 MCT? Unlike many other MCT oils, Brain Octane C8 MCT oil is odorless and tasteless.
In addition to their coffees, Bulletproof also sells MCT oils, proteins, foods and drinks, supplements, and other accessories like acupressure mats, vibration plates, travel tumblers, and educational materials such as books and posters. Pros & Cons
Pros:
There is an abundance of educational material available on the company website. From informational articles, newsletters, guides, blog posts, and a number of health books available for purchase, Bulletproof makes it easy and convenient to learn about wellness on their site.
The layout and design of the website is organized and visually appealing. The bright orange theme is recognizable and memorable. The fonts are unique and fit the strong, confident aesthetic of the brand.
Though they have been inactive as of late, their Youtube channel is filled with cooking tutorials, podcasts, and informational videos. Their social media pages are filled with similar content, making it easy for consumers to constantly be learning about wellness.
Bulletproof has been a leader in the health and wellness field since 2014. Their products have been featured on publications like The New York Times, Men? Health, CNN, and The Dr. Oz Show.
Cons:
On the company website and their socials, there is a lack of personality being expressed through the brand. On the site, there is a video of Dave Asprey, the founder of Bulletproof, explaining his motivation to create the brand and the experiences that led him to pay attention to the way his body reacts to certain foods and drinks. This video is personable and shows the true essence of the brand. And even this video is a fully edited and scripted. Besides this one video, there are never any other workers or users of the brand? products shown. We have no idea who works for this brand except the founder. Other companies sometimes have a ?eet the Team·section on their website that introduces key players of the brand. It can help build trust with consumers to also share regular, unedited footage of workers and contributors to the brand, as well as content showing normal people using the products.
It is slightly confusing why the two tabs, Shop·and Health Upgrades·on the company website aren't consolidated into one tab. Many of the pages they lead to overlap. Similarly, some of the pages on the Health Upgrades·tab also overlap with the ?earn·tab.
Though they mention the publications they're been featured in on their website, there are no links available or any additional information about which products were featured. Forcing the consumer to exert effort and do this research on their own could lead to some degrees of distrust.
Though the content on the brand's social media pages is well-curated and well-written, in the same light as ON 1· some of the images look too professional; to the point where some of them even look like stock photos from Google. Some of the images look too basic as well. The images that stand out are the ones with text accompanying them and with the Bulletproof·brand somewhere included in the image. However, for some of the images, it is literally just a plain picture of a cup of coffee.

In total, Orgain provides fourteen webinars for those interested in educating themselves on nutrition.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
Orgain stands for something. Their website provides ample information regarding the intention of the brand's existence. One does not get the impression that Orgain is just trying to make a quick buck. The website references their creator and spokesperson, Dr. Andrew Abraham. Putting a face to the products gives the line more credibility especially because the creator is a medical specialist.
Orgain offers 20% off your first order when a customer subscribes. From there, the customer receives 10% off all orders to follow.
Orgain's website is easy to navigate. When a prospective customer logs onto the site, they are greeted with a homepage that outlines the products they have to offer, and recipes one can make utilizing their products. In the top left corner, there is a menu button that breaks up the site into the categories; shop, subscribe & save, Brand, Recipes, sign in/register, and support.
Orgain focuses on outreach. The company's ambassador program and professional education series aim to bring Orgain to the rest of the world and help improve lives. Their company provides benefits to more than just their employees. Nutritionists are able to obtain credit if they partake in Orgain webinars and ambassadors can gain income for referring new clients to products.
Cons:
Their website could provide more information regarding the use of each product. When viewing a product there are prices listed and a very brief description of what the product is used for. The description that is provided is too vague.
The labels and logo for the brand look childish and elementary. There is a way to get across the mission or wellness without appearing too simple. The brand aesthetic lacks creativity and uniqueness. Visually, the products should try to set themselves apart from every other supplement brand on the market.
The ambassador program benefits are not communicated effectively on the designated website page. It states that ambassadors will receive a 10% commission for every customer they refer. The program raises more questions and concerns than interest by the way it is described. How do ambassadors find clientele? Is it a viable option for employment and in making a livable wage? The program seems like a ploy to attract underpaid labor.
Orgain's protein bar wrappers are not recyclable. This comes a surprise because the brand emphasizes its efforts to give back to the community and promote healthy living. There are plenty of recyclable packaging alternatives.

Ancient Nutrition’s products are designed to promote a fit and fruitful lifestyle. Their full spectrum of products is based upon ancient ingredients and principles. In total, the business offers one-hundred and nine products. Their products encompass everything from protein powders, to vitamin supplements, to essential oils. Most of their products are offered in various sizes and amounts. Within their product offers they include full-sized bundles, travel-friendly options, and value kits.
The website categorizes the products by health focus instead of simply listing them. The categories include; brain, sleep, immune support, beauty, gut, joints, fitness, energy, and wellness. The classification of products doesn’t end there. Ancient Nutrition also breaks down its products into sanctions of diet-types. They include paleo, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free diet categories. This user-friendly arrangement allows prospective buyers to pick products that best suit their health needs. For example, clicking on the beauty tab will bring a customer to the products designed to benefit beauty. This category includes their collagen powders and pill supplements, certain essential oils, zinc and magnesium supplements, and bone broth protein products. Clicking on a certain diet tab, such as ‘Keto’, will direct the customer to all the products designed for a Keto-diet.
Starting a diet containing supplements can be tricky to navigate for some. That’s why Ancient Nutrition offers a quick personality quiz to aid customers in building their wellness routine. The quiz asks three questions; What is your gender? How old are you? and What is your primary health focus? The website then directs the customer to a page of products that best suit his or her health needs.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
If you’re new to taking fitness supplements, Ancient Nutrition might be a good place to start, because they offer a 60-day money-back guarantee. With all the promises Ancient Nutrition makes about the ways in which fitness supplements improve your life, it shows confidence in their product that they give you a full two months to decide if you’ve experienced these positive changes.
Ancient Nutrition prioritizes quality when it comes to producing their fitness supplements. They believe that more than eating foods that are good for you, you have to make sure those foods come from good, trustworthy sources. Ancient Nutrition uses only the highest quality of ingredients and claims to do rigorous testing for purity, pesticides, heavy metals, and other things that might negatively impact your health.
If you’re looking to do a total overhaul of your diet, or just want to jump in headfirst to the world of fitness supplements, Ancient Nutrition offers a wide variety of bundles so that you can save some money while getting a bevy of natural, healthy products.
Ancient Nutrition has a pop up that appears while you’re browsing their products that ask if you would like to take a quiz to find out which fitness supplement is best for you, your goals, and your lifestyle. Some of the first questions allow you to tell Ancient Nutrition that you’re not overly familiar with fitness supplements, and it also asks you about any dietary restrictions or preferences, making it a great tool if you’re not sure where to start.
Cons:
If you’re interested in an Ancient Nutrition subscription for your fitness supplements and are also a thrifty shopper, you might want to look elsewhere. Ancient Nutrition does not honor discount codes on subscription orders, which may make the convenience of a subscription cost a little more than it’s worth.
The sort of back-to-ancient-basics, all-you-need-are-natural-foods, whole food perspective is an appealing part of a brand for many people. At the same time, some might be turned off by what could come across as a sort of folky remedy making significant medical promises that aren’t necessarily substantiated by science.
While some might find Ancient Nutrition’s wide range of fitness supplements to be a boon, to the uninitiated it might feel overwhelming. You can filter the available supplements in a variety of ways, but if you aren’t coming into it with an expectation of what you want, it could be difficult to navigate and lead to a lot of frustration.
Neither of Ancient Nutrition’s co-founders are medical doctors, which might make some uncomfortable incorporating these fitness supplements into their diets. This isn’t to say that one needs to be a medical doctor to do research and fully understand the body’s needs — and one of the co-founders is indeed a nutritionist. But it may be off-putting to some to be given advice about their health without the approval or support of a physician, especially when the social media for Ancient Nutrition is actually the personal social media of one of the co-founders. It makes the whole brand seem a little like a vehicle for one of the co-founders to achieve some kind of fame.
